Port of Ile aux Moines

ILE AUX MOINES

    Port ou cale

It is of course here that we must stop to visit, on foot or by bike, the "Pearl of the Gulf" where there were never monks or monasteries. The island owes its name to having belonged to the Abbey of Redon. The port, newly refurbished, the Bois d'Amour, the Grande Plage and the small strikes, the megaliths, the pretty habitat and the gardens which combine the English charm with the Mediterranean essences, all combine to seduce. On this island, even the shadows are bright. The silences themselves are sparkling, made of air and ripples. The Sailing Festival brings together 400 boats of all kinds, from traditional rigging to the Olympic catamaran, for three days of friendly regattas during the weekend of August 15th. Port-Blanc is only 300 meters away, a little more with the current ... It is a promontory on the coast of Baden, a green commune with 37 km of coastline and an 18-hole golf course on the Rivière d ' Auray. These twin ports, still in water, offer a dream stop in the heart of the Gulf of Morbihan, with this convenient situation: a foot on the island, a foot on the "continent".
